NUTRITION ADVICE
Does our diet help our Mental Health?
As we enter the next stage of the pandemic, looking after ourselves & others remains paramount.
“The relationship between our weight, whether that's being underweight, overweight or being obese can significantly contribute to our mental health; and can potentially lead to many being at risk of depression, and sometimes unhealthy feelings & thoughts.
”
You may recall on one of my earlier posts that as a result of COVID- 19, we have seen a significant upturn in the number of people who are potentially struggling with their mental health, general health & well being.
Many of us during that initial "lock down" period will have turned to food & drink for comfort & coping mechanisms, which can mean we enter a cycle which we find difficult to break, which consequently can spiral, sometimes out of control.
Having carried out various research, there is evidence to suggest that what we eat may affect not just our physical health, but also our mental health & wellbeing.
The relationship between our weight, whether that's being underweight, overweight or being obese can significantly contribute to our mental health; and can potentially lead to many being at risk of depression, and sometimes unhealthy feelings & thoughts.
All of the clients I have worked with & I am currently working with specifically on their nutrition & diet, have not just experienced success with their weight management goals, but are all experiencing benefits on their wellbeing; feeling more motivated, better about themselves, more confident, more energised, less fatigued & inspired. How amazing is that?!
